 Hyper Sonic (227cm x 76cm) - The best news since the first short boards appeared 22 years ago. This is going to revolutionize freeride sailing! Slalom boards were the most popular selling boards only 7 years ago. Slalom sailing slowly disappeared as they simply needed too much wind to get planing and slalom events had to be cancelled frequently. The Hyper Sonic is the bright new beginning of the return of what has always been the most exciting part of windsurfing. Slalom sailing, sailing fast and jibing well is what most sailors really want to do, and the Hyper Sonic delivers! It's combines the highest of speeds with the maximum comfort, especially through jibes. It can easily be sailed with 5 to 10 meter sails. (We have even tested to the limits with 4.6 wave sails and 10.4 Formula sails!) To make the most of its vast range, it will be equipped with 2 fins, a 44cm fin for sails over 7 square meters, and a 34 cm fin for smaller sails. It's trend setting extreme short length of only 227 cm reduces swing weight drastically, making it feel super light and responsive. Its width of 76 cm gives it early planing characteristics and the ability to carry large sails. The 2.5 cm deep concaves (the main feature of the most efficient hull shape to date) allow it to track well - even with smaller fins. The 2.5 cm deep concaves also make the hull plane up early and go through chop with ease, while maintaining planing longer in the lulls. The wide tail section gives plenty of leverage over the fin and maximizes stability! Control in high winds remains and at the same time, the Formula style cut away reduces more wetted surface. Another break through with the Hyper Sonic shape is the careful design of the 3 dimensional 'outside pressure-edge'. It is off this edge that a board turns, and because the board is the first to have a heavily curved edge, it jibes extremely well, especially considering a totally flat tail rocker.
