Windsurf UK, September 05; Despite being one of the smallest boards in the group, the Exocet is one of the quickest out of the blocks, possessing a low planing threshold and accelerating progressively to an impressive speed. Driven at full tilt, the Cross actually feels composed and somewhat sedate underfoot, making the rider believe they’re not going that fast; it’s only when they compare their speed relative to other people on the water that they realize they’re flying! The reason for this deceptive speed is largely down to the incredible soft, almost spongy, deck-pads that effectively iron-out all the harsh impact from chop, allowing the pilot to confidently drive every last ounce of the sail’s power into the board. Retaining its manners throughout an impressive wind range, the Cross is every bit the coastal blasting machine, feeling compact and responsive enough to handle the most severe sea states.

Windsurfing USA, September 05 (Joshua Sampiero) A big plus for the Cross 90 was maintaining early planing power without sacrificing top-end control. I hopped on, fully expecting to schlog, and was pleasantly surprised when I planed off effortlessly. Once on a plane, the board is able to handle anything you throw at it smack-the-lip swell slashing, short, snappy jibes, long coasting jibes and big air. But the biggest plus was never needing to get off it when the wind picked up, I was just as happy with the 4.2 as I was with the 6.2.
